Christos Chrondopoulos explores the cross-section of traditional Greek music and artificial intelligence throughout his critically acclaimed albums and now on Athenian Futurism. Chrondopoulos imagines the sci-fi scenario of spiritual machines questioning the meaning of music. “They discover the authentic musical traditions of the Athenian Basin, where Greece stands at a crossroads, and empty their lyrics of all meaning, celebrating the immediacy of musical expression.” Using applied speech synthesis, Chrondopoulos explores the fundamental philosophical question of language while grounding this experimental collection of sounds with intuitive rhythms and a versatile electroacoustic sound palette. 

This sample pack includes traditional chord progressions and melodies inspired by the bluegrass, folk and old-time music of the Appalachian region. It features banjo, dobro, mandolin and acoustic guitar performed by Bennett Sullivan. Bennett is an Asheville based multi-instrumentalist who was raised with the sounds of bluegrass music in North Carolina. He has featured alongside Steve Martin and Edie Brickell in the acclaimed Broadway Musical, "Bright Star" and has also shared the stage with Jim Lauderdale, Weird Al Yankovic and Ben Sollee. The pack was edited and mixed by Maine based producer Charles Van Kirk. 

Wonder Hues is back with more classic, yet modern Alternative Soul/Rand;B and Hip-Hop sounds. You can expect to hear more ambient and; chambered pianos, warm and; wide electric piano, ethereal synth pads, live guitar and of course our unique vocal phrases.

The strings are stretched over the soundboard and are played with small plectra that are attached to the fingers. The Qanun has a large range of notes and is known for its delicate and expressive sound. It is often used as a solo instrument or as part of an ensemble.

This new release in the Middle East Essentials series by Gio Israel focuses solely on rhythm. Rhythm is the beating heart that drives music and this collection of rare percussive drums and traditional rhythms defines the geographical region between the greek peninsula and Levant area.

Throughout the Middle East and the Mediterranean, rhythms have been used for many purposes across generations. What would be referred to by the Western musical establishments as odd or asymmetrical rhythms, are actually very common for the native Middle Eastern musician.
