Evan begins with classic arpeggiator patterns and alternate uses. He shows you how to use the chord trigger and the transposer functions independently and with the arpeggiator, then goes into adding complexity and rhythmic expressiveness with the note repeater. Evan explains how to make controllers more expressive and how to adjust velocity curves. He discusses how to use the modulator for a whole new level of control and the randomizer for a bit of musical chaos. Evan concludes with some of his favorite Scripter presets and uses.

With the original mix session open, Katis recounts the process behind the production, engineering, and mixing of the record. Alongside referral to recording techniques, instrument preparation, and more on tracking and production, his main focus is on how it was mixed and how he can remix. Peter shares his ITB processing from 2009, applied before analog summing and his master chain. Referencing the original mix, he challenges himself to achieving a superior result, then prints two versions – one with his elaborate summing chain and one purely digital. He compares the new mixes to one another and the original, and discusses a variety of topics including analog vs. digital sonics, loudness, acoustics, and much more!

We dive deep into his recording and mixing techniques used on 'The Wind Cries Mary' by Grace Potter – an outstanding cover of the Jimi Hendrix classic that Eddie also engineered in 1967. Kramer begins with an overview of the 70's API console, his hybrid workflow, and the signal routing setup. Outputting from Pro Tools to the desk, he mixes the record from scratch until he is satisfied enough to print on ATR master tape.
