Symphonic Shadows is a library born in the shadows of nightfall. A dark orchestral library containing over 7,000 unique aleatoric effect samples. The library comes with three distinct orchestral sections. First, the fiery tones of a 40-piece String Orchestra (12, 10, 8, 6, 4), and then an isolated 10-Piece Low String Section with six Cellos and 4 Basses. Next, the piercing sound of an 11-piece Brass Ensemble with four Horns, two Trumpets, three Trombones and two Bass Trombones. Last, but by no means least, a sonic hurricane in the woodwind ensemble containing one piccolo flute, one alto flute, and two flutes. As well, two clarinets and two bassoons.

Continuing from our highly popular Strings, Brass and Saxophone libraries, Intimate Studio Woodwinds is the latest creation in our series of contemporary studio ensembles. With over 160 hours of session material and countless more in post-production, Intimate Studio Woodwinds continues our concept of a completely modular ensemble. The library features five highly expressive solo woodwind players including a Flute, Oboe, Cor Anglais, Clarinet, and Bass Clarinet. Each player was recorded in true isolation so you can fluidly switch between any instrument and any articulation without compromising the sound or timing of your music.

Soundscapes opens up an entirely new sonic palette of tonal and atonal sound design through granular synthesis. Full of interesting textures, it incorporates samples from violinist Michael Levine. As a natural improviser, Adam Shatz (Landlady, Father Figures) approached his bass clarinet with newfound fervor.

8Dio Studio Vintage Series represents the most comprehensively deep-sampled collection of vintage keyboards. The illustrious Clavinet is no stranger to modern music and indeed sampling. We here at 8Dio took this iconic instrument and sampled it in such detail that it will never need to be sampled again. 84,900 samples to be exact. The Studio Clavinet is similar to a piano in appearance and performance, but it's sound is more indicative of a rich and powerful electric guitar. This is partly down to the size, positioning and length of the strings and bridge used. As well as the use of 2 individual pick ups, which can be solo'd, combined, and inverted. All of which has been meticulously sampled and crafted as the 8Dio Studio Clavinet.

The 8Dio Studio Vintage Series Wurli is the most comprehensively deep-sampled Wurlitzer ever created. Recorded and processed at 24-Bit / 96Khz at our famous British Studio through a large custom NEVE desk. The Studio Wurli contains both standard (Sustains and Staccato w/ RR) and prepared articulations (Muted Tines). All standard sustain samples were recorded with both pedals up and pedal down positions. In addition, we also added staccato (w/ round robin) for fast playing styles. We also opened up the Wurlitzer and recorded the internal mechanics, including gently muting the tines for a different type of sound as well as individually recording the internal speaker for a truly authentic sound.
