Introducing the Lux Cache Producer Series, where we invite post-genre sound artists to share their personal production tools. In our first instalment, recording artist and LC Director Kai Whiston shares his collection of versatile sub and 808 Ableton Effect processing racks. The package includes 8 Ableton Live 11 Racks and 8 Samples demonstrating their use on a regular clean 808. These 808 processing racks can be used in tandem with any Lux Cache sample packs.

The Last Prophet 5 is our first official add-on for the Sequential Prophet X and XL analog hardware synthesizers. We had the pleasure of deep sampling the last Prophet 5 ever made, which is also Dave Smith's personal unit (unit number 6427 / rev 1.3). We sampled every single program and some extras in the greatest fidelity possible, using an advanced signal chain of Jensen and Cinematic transformer pre-amps. We designed this signal chain specifically to preserve vintage synth recordings. The result is over 135 different instruments and a total of over 3,850 Prophet 5 vintage samples. The samples not only cover all the original patches, but also raw state oscillators in different states (Pulse 1-3, Saw, Sawtooth, Saw 5ths, Square, Sync 1-2, Triangle, Triangle Dirty, Noise 1-2, Noise Circuit, Noise HPF, and more).

The 1985 Passionate piano has the beautiful, warm, and wide sound of a mature grand. It contains deep-sampled Sustains, Una Corda (felt piano), Staccatissimo, and Staccato samples. We recorded its staccatos with many round-robin velocity layers, offering you the ability to play incredibly fast licks with clear definition on the attack of the sound.

The Arpistic 2600 is without a doubt one of the most iconic analog synthesizers ever produced. For over 45 years, only a few synthesizers have ever exuded this level of charm and appeal. The Arpistic has been featured in all forms of music and media, from smooth synth lines to iconic sound design. In the hands of many famous musicians and master sound designers, the Arpistic is a must-have synth in all areas of production, including Ben Burtt's voicing of R2-D2, the Doctor Who Theme, Elton John's “Rocket Man,” and artists such as Herbie Hancock and Nine Inch Nails to name a few. The 2600 competed against top synthesizers throughout the 1970's, earning its place as one of the most distinctive and sought-after synthesizers of all time.

The The Classic D is a three-oscillator monophonic synthesizer manufactured originally in the early 1970s, before being brought back in more recent years for a limited run. The Classic D not only helped shape decades of music production, but still defines and inspires instrument design and technology to this very day.

The third iteration of the original Granulator instrument Granulator III is a completely new instrument in my Granulator series, developed by me and some passionate people at Ableton. It comes with many exciting features, such as full support for MPE, an extensive modulation matrix, a streamlined UI, a powerful revised capture feature, which enables you to record any sound source directly into the instrument, without the need of using another device, a monophonic mode, and an abundance of other carefully crafted details. The first of this series debuted in 1979, quickly becoming known for its vast and gritty analog sound. The OG-X continued to dominate the charts throughout the 1980s and to this day is still one of the world's most sought-after synthesizers, with only around 800 units in existence.

The 1980's brought us some of the most famous cult classics and generated an era of fandom, but it also brought us many revolutionary Synthesizers. Very few synthesizers have stood the test of time as well as the Nuno 60, with original units still in circulation and being brought on the road for live performances to this very day.

The Prophet T8 was one of Sequential's flagship instruments, created in the early 80's with pure analog architecture. Its substantial, full-size, weighted keyboard combined with its range of features (MIDI integration, velocity, aftertouch, sequencer, and a variety of keyboard modes) made it a milestone in technology and instrument innovation alike.
