Producers Erick Bardales, Niko Oroc (from Oasis Music Library), and Sy (Masego's producer) all got together in Splice Studios LA to live out a dream. Splice Originals: Midnight Visions was inspired by being in the same room where Marvin Gaye did his magic. For a twist, they created darker, more aggressive Rand;B songs and envisioned Gaye singing over them. To achieve this sound, they used gear like the Moog Subsequent 37, Mellotron Mini, Prophet REV 2, Arturia V Collection, Taylor acoustic guitar, Chase Bliss Blooper, Chase Bliss Generation Loss MK2, Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl, and the Hologram Microcosm. Then they chopped up those songs to deliver the sounds in this pack.

On the outskirts of the French Quarter in New Orleans, Frenchman Street is known for its live music inside bars and on the streets. As the city opened back up after the first COVID-19 shutdown, Ray Luminais (who created our Voodoo - Southern Trap pack) took a trip down to Frenchman Street and listened to the street corner performers to gather some inspiration. Using a Fender Stratocaster and a Yamaha YSD 150 electric saxophone, he combined that inspiration with the influence of Rod Wave, Bryson Tiller, and Polo G to form Late Nights.

Splice Originals Infancia: Dark Trap RnB

For Infancia: Dark Trap RnB, music producer Erick Bardales explored his long-lasting curiosity about how it would sound if he composed fun and childlike melodies on hard-hitting drums and 808s. He experimented with his voice using Teenage Engineering OP1 synth and layered some of the sounds he created using the OP1 with Korg Collection 3, Arturia V Collection 8, and ANA2. He used Reels and Wires by Audiothing to give the samples that warm, lo-fi texture along with Arturia Tape Mello-FI for warp and noise. He also used Thermal and Decapitator on the 808s, some otto on the drums, StageOne on synths, and Ozone 8, Inflator, and FabFilter L2 on his mix bus.
