Some NASA’s spacecraft that have explored our solar system have instruments capable of capturing these radio emissions. Scientists converted these to sound waves and the results are eerie and fascinating source material for sound design.

Hwang Hyun is a South Korean singer, composer, lyricist, and arranger. He's also one of the co-founders of the music production and publishing company, MonoTree. In this pack, find a huge variety of sounds distinctive to the K-pop sound, plus those with an international pop lean and even ones reminiscent of 8-bit and beyond. Brooklyn-based and internationally raised reggaeton vocalist Dynasty is finally here to serve up some heat. He brings his encyclopedic understanding of Latin music and his incredible vocal character to this floorboard-lifting sample pack. He reaches far down to the roots of reggaeton and the Dem bow break to deliver a dynamic and heartfelt performance that Splice sound designers captured and cut up into a carefully cataloged collection of loops and one-shots. This pack pays homage to the likes of Nando Boom, Bobo General, and Sleepy Wonder, but also digs deeper with everything from guitar-roots riffs to razor-barbed vocal lines to trap-influenced Reggaeton bravado.

We partnered with Patexx for a deep dive into modern dancehall—an influential genre of Jamaican pop music originating in the late 1970s. Its name is owed to the spaces where popular Jamaican recordings were aired by local sound systems. Initially, the genre was a more sparse version of reggae than the roots style, which dominated much of the 1970s. In the mid-1980s, however, digital instrumentation became more prevalent, changing the sound considerably and becoming increasingly characterized by faster rhythms.

The Splice Originals team joined forces with Devon Dixon who performs as Von Xon to capture improvised keyboard, organ, Rhodes, and synth ideas. We then packaged them up as MIDI and Serum presets for you to run wild with.
