Longstoryshort VIDEO Q&A Part 5 Time Management w/Producing Music

my biggest workflow tips are too much for one video but i'll say a few things that help me on this same path

set realistic goals and deadlines for yourself. for me, one solid "near final" demo thats roughly mixed per week is a normal goal while maintaining 9-5 and a laughably small social life

the most expensive word in the american language is
"NOW" - people sacrifice long term wins for short term satisfaction. i can't promise you that you'll win long term by working on music every day after work, but i can promise you'll definitely NOT win by just sitting around playing video games and saying
"some day i'll do it"

i've taken a month off socials to work on a body of work, and i've been getting crushed by work then driving right into music. set realistic goals with good deadlines - i had to sacrifice social media since works been really busy and my life has been challenging lately. can't win them all but i'm betting on the music

i plan on doing a video on workflow, but my biggest advice is separate out short sessions and long sessions. when i know i only have an hour to work, i'll either quickly dive into a mix and make those quick adjustments, or i'll organize samples, do some sound design and save it for later, or simply just dig for vocals. long sessions are where i'll block off 3-6 hours to really write songs, and those sessions shouldn't be wasted digging around for samples.
