So while we do primarily cover lead guitar playing here at the Guitar School, I do think that maintaining your rhythm chops is super important to your ongoing growth as a guitarist. As well as the obvious advantages of keeping your picking hand dextrous, and being a great way to practice your hand synchronization, riff writing is also an absolutely fantastic way to get you thinking about harmony more and understand how to work within the structure of a kill.
