This course is intended for beginner to intermediate pianists who would like to familiarize themselves with the circle of fifths and learn to play in every major key signature. I've composed 12 pieces that get progressively harder, starting in C major and working our way around the circle of fifths. The course is cumulative, so it starts simply, and builds, with each passing assignment. By the end you will have a repertoire of 12 beautiful pieces, that you can either play on the piano alone, or also sing along to. I've included vocal melody lines and lyrics for each composition.

Learn pecussion and develop your rhythm
THE COURSE In this course we will learn to play our first 100 rhythms on the cajon. We will start by learning the basic sounds of the cajon and then quickly start with the rhythms. To my way of understanding percussion, the rhythms are the fundamental element. They are like the vocabulary of a language or the bricks of a house. In this way, if we have a wide vocabulary of rhythms, little by little we will begin to identify and detect rhythms and patterns when we listen to music and as a result, know how to use them. Without a good vocabulary, we will not be able to communicate anything. The same thing happens in music. Therefore, in this series of courses we will focus on obtaining a solid enough rhythmic foundation. In a easy and intuitive way.

The revised edition of Sync or Swarm promotes an ecological view of musicking, moving us from a subject-centered to a system-centered view of improvisation. It explores cycles of organismic self-regulation, cycles of sensorimotor coupling between organism and environment, and cycles of intersubjective interaction mediated via socio-technological networks. Chapters funnel outward, from the solo improviser (Evan Parker), to nonlinear group dynamics (Sam Rivers trio), to networks that comprise improvisational communities, to pedagogical dynamics that affect how individuals learn, completing the hermeneutic circle. Winner of the Society for Ethnomusicology's Alan Merriam prize in its first edition, the revised edition features new sections that highlight electro-acoustic and transcultural improvisation, and concomitant issues of human-machine interaction and postcolonial studies.
