The world of Latin music has continued to gain popularity over the years as an exciting form of entertainment that has crossed over and blurred the lines between different styles. True Latin music does not normally include a drum set - Real Latin offers MIDI grooves that were adapted to the drum set that will make you move in your seat. For this offering we concentrated on the drum set instrumentalists that have pioneered the art form and drew inspiration from their playing to create this extremely musical collection.

Avedis Zildjian I (the first) was an Armenian alchemist in the city of Constantinople in the early seventeenth century. While attempting to create gold by combining base metals, he discovered an alloy of copper, tin, and traces of silver with unique sound qualities. In 1618, Avedis used his secret alloy to create cymbals of spectacular clarity and power. The sound of the instruments was so extraordinary that the Sultan invited Avedis to live at court (Topkapi Palace) to make cymbals for the Sultan's elite Janissary Bands. As Avedis' reputation grew, the Sultan gave him the name "Zildjian" in Armenian (Zilciyan in Turkish), a word meaning "son of cymbal maker."

Real Jazz is an immense collection of over 2,100 actual live, jazz grooves recorded as a real performance on an electronic drum set at specific tempos.

Jazz has to swing, and it has to groove --- the key is the swing eighth note, which in jazz has a slightly different inflection at different tempos. Each tempo category in Real Jazz was recorded for accuracy to capture the correct relationship of the notes in the swing pattern. With all of the different tempos represented in this collection, it is easy to keep the correct swing feel intact. The MIDI grooves include 2-beats, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, ballads, and shuffles for both sticks and brushes. Real Jazz even includes some bop and jungle grooves.
