A JOURNEY BACK IN TIME SIGNATURES.Basic rock grooves in close to any time signature imaginable. By the end of the 1960s and continuing well into the late ’70s, bands like Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Kansas, Rush, Pink Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Genesis and Styx were in the vanguard of a musical shift in rock. Suddenly, uncommon time signatures, long solos, technical passages, dragged-out instrumental parts and lyrical themes out of this world not only became common but largely accepted even on a commercial scale. In short: the prog rock scene that rose during this period applied extra everything – to everything. Maybe so the most in terms of drums. To this day, the timeless chops of Neil Peart, Phil Collins, Bill Bruford, Alan White and many others continue to inspire and set the bar.

The MAAT DRMeter offers essential options for musically responsive, realtime level metering. These include graphical and numeric estimation of DR dynamic range, plus measurement of SPPM Peak, RMS amplitude, digital overs and “digital black.” The MAAT DRMeter release was MAAT’s first step in bringing forward the legacy of the PMF’s legendary TT Dynamic Range Meter, certainly the most popular metering plug—in of the last decade and one that engendered many inaccurate imitators. Inspiring music producers and artists worldwide for more dynamic music releases, DRMeter’s carefully tuned ballistics contributed to the original TT’s broad acceptance. We have tested the new DRMeter again and again against the original TT DR Meter to ensure a consistent user experience.

A dozen precision variations on “analog,” all in one EQ.Beautiful analog architectures, twelve in all, that will take your work out of the ordinary. ThEQblue builds on the groundbreaking foundation of Algorithmix's Classic PEQ Blue, while bringing that reference quality into the 21st Century. thEQblue is a collection of up to twelve minimum phase equalizer architectures, all employing 80 bit floating point internal precision. We reverse engineered a variety of well respected hardware EQs, creating idealized digital versions from that inspiration. Rather than models or simulations that carry analog "baggage," thEQblue has no noise, distortion or other secondary effects inherited from analog.

Why develop yet one more minimum phase parametric equalizer (PEQ) when there’s already hundreds on the market? The answer is simple…’Cuz there was room for improvement! It was customers of the original LinearPhase PEQ Red and Orange who asked Algorithmix to develop a classic EQ, for recording and mixing tasks, with unparalleled purity and transparency. Over several years, our Dr. Christoph closely analyzed many of the best out there, and compiled a vast knowledgebase of analog EQ best practices. Cherry picking from that, he implemented not just one or two, but an entire collection of trad minimal phase EQs. The result? A distillation of analog antecedents, while others are based on new ideas. We know you’ll enjoy our dozen variations of blue, newly revised by MAAT, and find your favorite sound.

A NEW SCHOOL OF GROOVE.Drum beats and fills ready for your modern eighties-flavored pop songs. Pop drums in the eighties were somewhat a marriage between two eras. At one end of the scale, drum machines and monotonous beats were forcing their way into the sound of the time, while on the opposite side, groove, feel and timing were more important than ever. Amid all this was the traditional drummer, caught in an age when technology came head to head with tradition. Producers introduced click-tracks on a larger scale, asked drummers to play with machine-like precision to not clinch with their sequenced parts and had them lay down their tracks as the first step in a production – all while session drummers like John Robinson, Ricky Lawson, Phil Collins, Manu Katché, Jonathan Moffet, Jeff Porcaro, Kenny Aronoff and Stewart Copeland rose to iconic fame and had more work than ever. This era is indeed a man-against-machine scenario, where drummers who bridged the gap the best came out on top. Who’ll ever forget those gated reverbs, larger-than-life drum fill breaks and machine-like beats? Interesting time indeed.

SIXTIES POP CHOPS.Pop grooves and fills inspired by the '60s pop and rock revolution. Transitioning from rhythm and blues, rock 'n' roll and soul to a more open sound, the '60s pop era is one of blurred lines when it comes to drums. Suddenly, drummers were caught in the midst of a musical and cultural revolution bursting with innovation, calling for new ideas, grooves and personality. Pop and rock players like Bobby Orr, Mick Avory, Keith Moon, Levon Helm, Charlie Watts, Mitch Mitchell, Ringo Starr and others in many ways rewrote the role the drums used to have in a pop or rock song.
