Mxnu returns to the Renraku catalog with RARE - Tape Jams 3, an absolutely massive collection of tape processed samples well suited for a wide variety of genres.  Impactful melodic loops, songstarters and instrumental riffs make up the bulk of melodic material in the pack, while drum one shots and loops provide instant grit and character to any composition. 

Found Sound Nation presents this sample pack of Colombian guitar and gaita, played by composer and producer Niño Lento es Fuego. Warbling electric guitar with pulsating tremolo and slapback echoes and tender acoustic guitar are performed alongside Colombian gaita, an ancestral wooden flute descended from indigenous tribes. Recorded at Niño Lento’s New York home studio, the pack’s adventurous playing recalls traditional cumbia and Afro-funk.

Corazón De Mexico is a series of sample packs celebrating the vibrant, rich tradition of folkloric Mexican music played by a Mariachi. Volume 2 features several loops in the style of Huapango produced by Jose Olide and Sandra Mayorga-Martínez, featuring guitarist Vincent Pequeño, vihuelist Jason Molina, guitarronist Diego Barba, trumpeter Raúl Martínez, vocalists Roberto Mata and Janeida López, and harpist Victor Estrada, recorded at Valve Studios in Dallas Texas. These kind of synthesis gained momentum in the 80s and had revival in 00s, to be brought to life again by various synth makers in the last few years. FM drums got a lot of love from 80s pop to 00s dub, downtempo and minimal techno producers. Their clean and sharp but still thick and defined sound always makes them present in the mix.

Producing any kind of music is hard enough as it is, but perhaps this kind of drum'n'bass has over the years reached technical levels that are hard to achieve without a little help. Of course sample packs can be seen as an easy way to get a quick result, but we hope it will inspire people to push the envelope even further with the proper tools in hands.
