With over two decades of combined experience, Brooklyn-based duo MEMBA has carved a distinct lane in the electronic dance scene. Obsessively dedicated to making speakers bang, they meticulously mix and master all their own music (since the Soundcloud glory days), amassing 250M+ streams and tearing down many festivals like Coachella, Bonaroo, EDC, Ultra, Eforest, and Glastonbury. 

The samples in this pack are not royalty-free. This series pays homage to the strange and dark side of library music. If you like slow, creepy boom bap, you'll find plenty of inspiration here. Detuned piano, experimental synths, tensed violins, and deep vocals make up the 32 samples to be chopped. All files are in universal WAV format at 44.1 kHz sample rate and 16 bits resolution. Alright, so we decided to make some more disgusting, destroyed 808 style booming kick drums from our drum machine collection. This time we used our trusty Boss Sp202 on lofi2 mode for some nice grittiness as well as a classic DOD Grunge distortion pedal to make buzzy kicks that will slice through any cell phone speaker. We've processed the original kicks from the first volume through these two new units as well as the new machines and we've also included all the new additions for volume 2 as clean kicks so you can process them yourself.

As a follow up to Kaoru Watanabe's Japanese Percussion pack, he returns to Splice sharing with all of us the mystic sounds of Japanese flutes. After spending a decade in Japan studying Japanese percussion and flutes and a grueling two-year apprenticeship, he became a member of the internationally acclaimed Taiko Performing Arts Ensemble Kodo.

In our time making sample packs, we've been no strangers to rare and peculiar gear. Three of the rarest drum machines we've ever sampled are the MPC1, TOM, & Dr. Bohm.
