Freddy Harris III is back with another Splice Originals pack. For this edition, Harris, a steel pan aficionado, focused on crafting the sounds of the place he was raised: Trinidad. In this session, we added drums, bass, and guitar to create a full soca sound. Dig into the sounds of the islands to add a soulful, summer vibe to any production. The glimmering sounds of the steel pan bring brightness and soul.

This pack is the first of a five-part series created over the course of five sessions in New York. Splice Originals: Jazz Cuts was recorded and composed much like an album would be executed. This installment embodies the cool jazz scene of the west coast with an added dose of Gil Evans-style orchestration. Some of the other influences were Bill Evans, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Flying Lotus, Freddie Hubbard, Stan Getz, Astrud Gilberto, and Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Jarell Perry is back on Splice sharing his sublime vocals that transcend moods and mundanity, transporting us to a place of pure joy and beauty. These harmonies emote a delicate power that's hard to describe. They'll soften the jagged edges of your productions while commanding attention with their epiphanic qualities.

NYC-based future-soul collective, The Love Experiment return with their third of four Splice packs. For Splice Originals: Organic Hip Hop, the group focused on 1990s-era boom bap stylings. This pack leans heavily on bass and guitar layered over old school rhythms served up by Charles “Blvk Samurai” Burchell. You'll find warm, groovy, and nostalgic sounds with a modern touch.

The Splice String Quartet returned to the studio to perform soulful strings in the classic 1970s soul style. For this edition, we focused on creating string loops that would be at home in modern and classic R&B productions.

This is our second sample pack with the Splice Gospel Choir led by Djore Nance. He conducted and arranged vocal parts for four singers on the spot with written chord progressions. The vocalists heard on this pack are Chenee Campbell, Jhetti Lashley, Rasul A-Salaam McPherson, and Djore Nance. You'll find a wide variety of vocal harmonies, adlibs, riffs, and more.

Get ready to party. Splice Originals: Brazilian Carnival Percussion features a variety of rhythms heard during the Carnival of Brazil. NYC-based Brazilian percussion experts gave us a crash course in different Brazilian samba, focusing primarily on the samba-enredo style common to Rio de Janeiro. Other colorful styles incorporated into this pack include samba-reggae, samba-Afro, and variations of Alfo-Brazilian folkloric rhythms from Angola and Congo.

Kaoru Watanabe is a Brooklyn-based composer and musician, specializing in Japanese percussion and shinobue flutes. He has spent decades artfully blending the sounds of Japanese instruments with others from around the world. He's collaborated with such artists as National Living Treasure Bando Tamasaburo, Jason Moran, So Percussion, Adam Rudolph, Kenny Endo, Stefon Harris, Kiyohiko Semba, Alicia Hall Moran, Tamango, calligrapher Kakinuma Koji, visual artist Simone Leigh, and director Martin Scorsese. He was a featured guest on Yo-Yo Ma's Grammy Award-winning album Sing Me Home.
