Gio Israel Masters: Vardan Baghadasaryan - Kamancha

The 'Masters' Series is designed to bring forward the sounds and musicianship of the last remaining musical masters of our time. Armenian-born, Vardan Baghadasaryan is considered one of only a handful of Kamancha players still performing at this high level. With complete control of the entire scale system of the Mugam, Vardan brings about a unique style and touch that is both highly sophisticated and emotionally touching.  

His instrument, the Kamancha is a bow instrument, from central Asia, to Turkey and Iran, the first Kamancha date back over a 1,000 years ago.
