In his Splice debut, producer/composer Sam Kearney explores the darker sounds of film and television. Captured with a mixture of organic instrumentation and analog synthesis; all samples were processed “outside the box” through hardware eq and compression; vintage delays and tape echoes; plate, spring and early digital reverb units. With intention through limitation and treating the DAW solely as a “tape machine”…a human being’s emotional experience is not polished…nor should its soundtrack be.
