Rotatives is the new original sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt devoted to the creation of mesmerizing and unusual cinematic sequences and melodic textures. Rotatives works with the rotational alternance of 3 different multisampled sound sources, named “Steps” and based on stringed instruments (guitars and ethnic), plus one synthetic layer, teaming together to create textures with a unique yet haunting sound.

Handpan, by Ergo Kukke, is a magical journey in D-minor and Chromatic scales. This specific Handpan is made out of thickened nitrided steel, which gives it a softer moody and cinematic sound. It resonates in a way that can be used for rhythmic play, but also has a tail that is perfect for meditative and slow performances. It has a sound that captivates the soul. Also known as Hang or Pan Drum, the Handpan has an enchanting sound that transports you to a realm of serenity and inspiration.

The Duduk, made out of aged apricot wood, is an historic Armenian traditional woodwind instrument. It has now been made famous as it was featured in the Dune movies scored by Hans Zimmer. The sound of it is meditative and haunting, sounding similar to an oboe and saxophone. The reed of the Duduk is hand made from reed cane and requires preparation with water to make it come alive again by producing sound.

The sho is free reed musical instrument and one of the three primary woodwind instruments used in gagaku court orchestra music. Consisting of 17 slender bamboo pipes, it is sometimes said to resemble a resting phoenix because of its shape. In antiquity, the sho's fluid tonal character was associated with light shining down from the heavens.
