While sampling the church organ in the town church I made this organ stop combination that had an ethereal quality. Solos of the Sea – Solo Violin A is a very simple solo legato instrument. The library continues along the lines of the unfolding Con Moto series with ‘active-bow’ sustains and legatos recorded con moto (with motion). The latter is here expanded upon with a ‘pitch-memory’ adaptation, which helps minimize a musician’s susceptibility to timbral variation between sustain and shorter legato assets.

Evolution Flatwound Bass features a vintage P-style electric bass equipped with flatwound strings for a deep, rich tone. We developed the library in collaboration with Rosewood Recording Company, one of Utah's most venerable recording studios. Guy Randle, the owner and recording engineer at Rosewood Recording Company, incorporated analog audio equipment to skillfully sculpt and emphasize the rich tonal qualities of the bass, available as an enhanced signal provided in addition to the as-recorded signal.

“Dominus” is the latin word that stands for “Lord”. From the contraction of the female “Domina” comes “Donna”, the modern italian word for “Woman”. The same word is attested in old English Law for noble ladies who held a barony in their own right. On the other hand, “Dominoes” is the popular game, born in China, famous for its numbered tiles. Focusing on the ideas of making something both gamish and funny as well as something that is built on traditional church chants and prayers, we created Dominus Choir.

Caspian is a thematic orchestral brass library. Featuring an all-in-one patch approach similar to Performance Samples’ flagship product Oceania, Caspian uses performance/repetition sampling and creative release techniques to capture the samples in motion and provide a reactive and playable experience.

Oceania is a choir library for thematic writing. It’s built from a variety of performance-sourced assets which cater to spontaneity, energy, and syllable cohesion. Part and parcel is the ability to handle variation in phrase length and playing speed.

Fluid Shorts is based around performance-sourced off-the-string spiccatos with a smaller string ensemble (8/6/4/3). The instruments are built to function well in moderate repetition, by way of performances that have been deconstructed from phrases into playable multi-samples.

River Piano, recorded in a hall, is a grand piano library focused on arrhythmic textures – from multi-octave repeated unisons to sustaining suspended chord flurries and trills, to upward/downward arpeggios and glissandi. The library’s intent is to provide organic movement and color in an orchestral or dramatic setting.

Sho, the fourth release in the Virtuoso Japanese Series, is now available as a software instrument in Kontakt format. The sho is free reed musical instrument and one of the three primary woodwind instruments used in gagaku court orchestra music. Consisting of 17 slender bamboo pipes, it is sometimes said to resemble a resting phoenix because of its shape. In antiquity, the sho’s fluid tonal character was associated with light shining down from the heavens.

Shakuhachi, the third release in the Virtuoso Japanese Series, is now available as a software instrument in Kontakt format. Singing sonorous intonation, deep yet delicate breathing, and a Japanese sound aesthetic spilling into the periphery: The shakuhachi - an instrument symbolic of Japan - finally joins the Virtuoso Japanese Series family.

Inspired by film and classical music icons this collection pushes the boundaries of traditional sampling methods by introducing revolutionary features like Auto Divisi combined with Polyphonic True Legato from the Next Generation Choir Series and a Thematic Approach towards playing techniques. Capturing conducted musical samples as opposed to static generic samples Afflatus Chapter I features several custom-made articulation groups able to portray one specific style per group with ease. This approach grants the user highly specialized and inspiring virtual instruments able to perform music with virtuosity: Gone are the days of soulless samples.
