WHAT WE RECORDED
OCEAN SHORES occur wherever land meets ocean. There are 372,000 miles (620,000 kilometers) of Ocean Shores in the world: high energy shorelines exposed to swells or low energy shorelines in areas protected from large swells and accordingly only exposed to much smaller waves generated by local winds. Both are subject to tidal action, in and out, through the littoral zone and its plant and wildlife smorgasbord, not to mention human activity.
