Solo String FormationsBring depth and emotion to your compositions with these expressive, intertwining solo string textures. Whether seeking subtle nuance or musical inspiration, explore an intimate palette of articulations and evocative Atmosphere Layers to shape your sound.
The follow-up to String Formations, this solo counterpart expands on the original's innovations with a more intimate and focused sound. Featuring the first chairs of the larger ensemble, it offers detailed, characterful textures that can stand alone or blend naturally with other string libraries to add motion and nuance to your music.
Continuing the original's chordal approach, the engine intelligently analyses your playing in real time, and triggers performances that move between the notes you are holding, resulting in a fluid, expressive texture that feels truly alive.
Each soloist was recorded separately, allowing us to introduce a new Arranger feature, giving you full control over how the engine allocates each note to the soloists in the ensemble.
Within the library are our signature Atmosphere Layers which are bespoke pads and textures, designed to be blended with the articulations within the main patches, or using the Layer Blends engine, offering an inspiring way to reshape the core sound and discover fresh sonic possibilities.
Effortless TexturesThis set of articulations has been captured with intricate detail, and is driven by our 'Smart Chords' engine. When you play multiple notes, the engine recognises the intervals and automatically voices them as performed by the original players. No menus, no scale modes– just play naturally, and the library responds musically.
InstrumentationFor this library, we returned to Nave Studios to record solo violin, viola, and cello– performed by the first chairs of the original ensemble in the same hall. The result is a naturally cohesive sound that blends beautifully with String Formations - ideal for those seeking a more focused texture without sacrificing compatibility.
New: ArrangerThe Arranger menu lets you control how the engine assigns notes to each soloist within the ensemble. In Auto mode, the engine intelligently allocates each note to the most appropriate instrument in the ensemble, whilst Tutti mode triggers all instruments within the played range, like a traditional ensemble patch.
Using the instrument priority modes, the violin, viola, and cello can be isolated, so that this is the only instrument you hear when performing in their specific range (shown in pink), while notes outside the range revert to Auto mode.
Layer BlendsCombine the eight Atmosphere Layers and eight unison articulations in the Layer Blends engine to create over 500 unique soundsets. Paired with the built-in effect controls, this powerful toolset is designed to spark inspiration and push the sonic boundaries of the traditional solo string sample library.
