If there’s one question I hear more than any others when it comes to music theory, it’s definitely: “What are the modes? And how do I apply them to my playing?” So I thought what better way to kick things off than starting to tackle this often-misunderstood and over-complicated subject!

Everything you need to create crazy synth melodies packaged together into a small but powerful sound kit Analog Essentials is a sound kit created by taking some of our favourites sounds we've made to put together an "essentials" folder. This is ideal for producers that are on the fence about the whole analog sound that perhaps want to try a cheaper and more streamlined sound kit instead. Inside you'll find all the usual categories of sounds such as one shots, phrases, textures and melody layers. So despite the relatively small amount of sounds you'll still be able to put together plenty of fire melodies to get you started. In total there is over 130 sounds to explore!

Superposition is a monophonic probabilistic concatenative multisampler with an inbuilt multi-fx and modulation system. It centers around transitioning between playback States; each State essentially is a preset for playback (including playing different samples), FX, and modulation settings/mappings. Additionally there are three playback modes (normal, grain, spectral) for time stretching and freezing effects. You can transition between playback States using the Markov probability system or through MIDI notes (or both simultaneously!). The device is pretty open ended and has many uses but it is great for sample mangling/cut up, generative melodies, jungle DnB and other breakbeats, glitchy FX/rhythms/textures, ambient progressions, and quite a lot more depending how you set it up!

Reminiscing about the movies from that era brings back a lot of great memories. Memories of action heroes, synth music and very bad karate flicks in poor quality. One thing that stood out on those classic movies was the music. Heavy analog synths sounds mixed with distorted guitars and electric pianos.
